The answer is option 4: UN-led effort

The War of Terrorism was declared by the United States after the September 11th attacks.

It was initially seen as a UN-led NATO effort, since it was an attack on a NATO member and hence, every other country was obliged to retaliate.

In the early years of the war, it had full support and backing of the Security Council and almost every United Nations member was on board.

The correct answer is A) an international effort.

The global response to terrorism has been an international effort.

Not limited trough the United Nations, the response to terrorism has been an international effort in which most countries of the world are aware of the importance of preventing attacks and share information with other countries about possible terrorist cells. Not only the United States has been the target of terrorist attacks. European countries such as France, England, Belgium, and Norway have had terrorist attacks and they know how difficult it is to prevent the attacks and maintain national security inside their borders. That is why the global response to terrorism has been an international effort and continues to be that way in order to prevent more attacks.

Which statement best describes the United States' Cold War policy of containment?
Colt1911 [192]

Answer:

A) prevent communism from spreading to any additional territories

Explanation:

Containment was a United States policy using numerous strategies to prevent the spread of communism abroad. A component of the Cold War, this policy was a response to a series of moves by the Soviet Union to enlarge its communist sphere of influence in Eastern Europe, China, Korea, and Vietnam.

Containment is a geopolitical strategic foreign policy pursued by the United States. It is loosely related to the term cordon sanitaire which was later used to describe the geopolitical containment of the Soviet Union in the 1940s
