So you need to calculate a weighted average, where the average of 70 has twice the weight of the average of 85 (20 students vs 10). The easiest way to think about it is to split the 20 into two groups of 10 so that you have three groups of 10 students, that way you can just average the scores as normal.

So, you have three averages of 85, 75 and 75.

Total average = (85+75+75)/3 = 78.33...

Harpreet, Sukhpreet and Komalpreet are three sisters. Sukhpreet is x years old. Harpreet is 3 years older than Sukhpreet. Komalp
Ira Lisetskai [31]

Answer:

12

Step-by-step explanation:

Givens

Harpreet        = x + 3

Sukhpreet     = x

Komalpreet   = 2*(x + 3)

Average Age = 15

Equation

[(x + 3) + x + 2*(x + 3) ] / 3 = 15                  Multiply both sides by 3

Solution

3 [(x + 3) + x + 2*(x + 3) ] / 3 = 15 * 3         Combine

 [(x + 3) + x + 2*(x + 3) ]       =   45             Remove the brackets

x + 3 + x + 2x + 6                 =   45             Combine like terms

4x + 9 = 45                                                 Subtract 9 from both sides

4x + 9 - 9 = 45 - 9                                       Combine

4x = 36                                                         Divide by 4

4x/4 = 36/4

x = 9

Answer

Harpreet is  x+ 3 = 9 + 3 = 12

Bradley Wiggins cycles 2.5km on a warm up. If the diameter of Bradley's bike wheel is 68cm, how many times (to the nearest whole
blagie [28]

Answer:

1171 rotations

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that:

Distance cycled = 2.5km

Diameter of bike wheel, d = 68cm = 0.68m

We obtain the Circumference of the bike wheel:

Circumference, C = πd

C = 3.14 * 0.68

C = 2.1352 m

The number of rotations Bradley's wheel will make will be :

Total distance cycled / Circumference

= (2.5 *1000)m / 2.1352m

= 2500 / 2.1352

= 1170.8505

= 1171 rotations

You and your friend get braces on the same day. You go for a checkup every fourth Tuesday. Your friend goes every third Tuesday.
Shtirlitz [24]

Answer: After 12 weeks they will both be at the dentists on the same Tuesday

Step-by-step explanation:

Since we have given that

He goes for a checkup every fourth Tuesday and his friend goes for a check up every third Tuesday.

We need to find the number of weeks they both will be at the dentist on the same Tuesday.

For this we will find "L.C.M. of 4 and 3 " =12

So, After 12 weeks they will both be at the dentists on the same Tuesday.
