The correct answer is C) executive branch.

If you were currently Georgia's commissioner of insurance, you would be a member of the executive branch.

The governor of the state of Georgia is the head of the executive branch. It is elected by the citizens for a term of four years with the possibility of one reelection. Georgia's commissioner of insurance is also elected by Georgia's citizens and belongs to the executive branch as well as the Secretary of the State, lieutenant governor, state school superintendent, commissioner of agriculture, attorney general, and commissioner of labor.

Three innovations in transportation during the 1800s
tresset_1 [31]
The two major advances in transportation that took place during the 1800s were the steamboat and the train.
In the United States at the beginning of the 1800s, essentially all transportation was either by animal power or by wind power (sails)  Other boats could go down rivers, but not back up them.  Nothing could go overland except if it was pulled by animals.
The invention of the steamboat changed this so that boats could go either direction on rivers.  When railroads were first built and later expanded, the problem of moving goods and people overland was solved too.

Hardin Hardin uses a Lifeboat metaphor to introduce his argument. What is the central idea of this argument?
Rudiy27

Hi!

The central idea of the metaphor was that the people in the lifeboat are the rich nations, whereas those that are drowning are the poor nations.

This metaphor is known as lifeboat ethics, and is used to illustrate the distribution of resources.

The metaphor depicts a lifeboat which is boarded by 50 people (the wealthy nations), and 100 people swimming in the surrounding water at risk of drowning. The 'ethical issue' is stirred by the fact that there is room for 10 more people on this lifeboat, and if the surrounding people should be taken aboard -and if so, what would be the conditions of such an act.

Hope this helps!

NORTHERN PACIFIC OCEAN—Scientists have discovered a new, currently unnamed island in the northern Pacific Ocean. The small islan
Crank

Answer:

A) to inform

Explanation:

The purpose of this article is to inform. It is an article that describes something that has happened, how it happened, what where the causes for it, where it is located, and a description of the island. This is all information for the public, but also for the scientists, as well as for all the people that would use the ocean waters for traveling in this part of the world. Mapping the new island is crucial, as if it is not mapped, it can result in some ships hitting in it because they will not be aware of it, and there might be lot of victims because of it. Also, the geologists would be very interested in this information, as they will have an island where they can examine and see with their own eyes how new crust is formed, and how islands develop.
