The major ranks go from broad to specific in this order: domain, kingdom, phylum, class, order, family, genus, and species. So the most specific one is genus.

The two scientific names share the same first word: Ulva, which is a genus group of green algae.  That means they must be closely-related species.

Why is a cell analogous to an engineered watch? because it consists of numerous independent subunits because it consists of nume
skelet666 [1.2K]
A cell is analogous to an engineered watch because it consists of numerous interdependent sub units and also because coded information can not arise from random processes. A cell is the basic unit of living systems. Although it is relatively easy to visualize the components of cells, it is difficult to conceptualize how these components function together to sustain life within the cell.

Explain what would happen if water did not expand when freezing. How would this impact aquatic life?
Lapatulllka [165]

Explanation:

If water did not expand when freezing, then it would be denser than liquid water when it froze; therefore it would sink and fill lakes or the ocean from bottom to top. Once the oceans filled with ice, life there would not be possible.
