Answer:

1. Which of the organisms might share the same community?

Kangaroo rat and Jack rabbit share the same habitat

2. Why are these organisms suited to the communities you have selected?

These organisms are suited to the communities I have selected based on their nature as well as there ability to adapt to such environments.

3. Why would these organisms not live in the other communities given?

This is because they would not be able to survive and adapt in this other communities.

4. What part of the ecosystem (carnivore, decomposer, herbivore, omnivore, producer, scavenger) does each organism fulfill?

kangaroo rat: Herbivore

jack rabbit: Herbivore

cyclops: Carnivore

green algae: Producer

shelf fungus: Decomposer

Explanation:

1. Which of the organisms might share the same community?

Kangaroos and Jack rabbit have the same habitat because they are both found in Semi Arid or Arid lands such as deserts. They can also survive in grasslands as well.

2. Why are these organisms suited to the communities you have selected?

These organisms are suited to the communities I have selected based on their nature as well as their ability to adapt to their environments. For example:

a. Kangaroo rat is found in Arid and grass land communities. This is because, they can survive for a long period of time without water, that is why they are found in Arid lands such as Deserts.

b. Jack rabbit are found in Arid and grass land communities. This is also due to their capacity to survive for a long period of time without water.

c. Cyclops are found in brackish water. Cyclops are aquatic organisms that are found in brackish water.

d. Green algae are found in ponds as well as stagnant water. This is because of their photosynthetic nature. They require exposure to the sun in other for them to produce chlorophyll which they require for food and energy. Hence the reason they are found in ponds or stagnant water where they can get a maximum amount of exposure to the sun.

f. Shelf fungus are found in moist areas that have lot trees also called wood lands. This is due to their nature as decomposers.

3. Why would these organisms not live in the other communities given?

kangaroo rat, Jack rabbit, Cyclops, Green algae and Shelf fungus cannot live in the other communities given because they would not be able to survive and adapt in this communities

4. What part of the ecosystem (carnivore, decomposer, herbivore, omnivore, producer, scavenger) does each organism fulfill?

a. Kangaroo rat and Jack rabbit are herbivores. They feed on plants and get their energy from there.

b. Cyclops: They are carnivorous animals because they feeding on small fishes.

c. Green algae: Green algae are referred to as producers because their produce their own food. In nature, green algae has an organelle called the Chloroplast. This chloroplast produces chlorophyll when exposed to the sun and it produces the energy green algae requires.

d. Shelf fungus: Shelf fungus can also be called Bracket fungus. They are decomposers. The reason they are called decomposers is because they shelf fungi are found on woodlands, growing and living on trees where they cause decomposition.
