The less formal choice would be A.
- healthy diet
- less risk of food poisoning
- can be simply all natural and homegrown
- less expensive (you can grow the vegetation yourself
Some people do it because it is the easier way of getting rid of garbage and some do it as a joke or because they think it is cool.
You can add more garbage cans and or make fliers saying why it is bad but otherwise I have no clue why people do it! :)
