Four students discussed how the organelles of an animal cell contribute to the process of removing waste. Use their explanations
professor190 [17]

The most complete explanation by a student that described how organelles work together to remove waste is the statement by Student 2.

The cell is the smallest functional unit of a living organism that contains membrane bound organelles that carry out specific functions.

Cellular activities gives rise to the formation of waste products which must be removed to maintain maximum cellular function.

Examples of the organelles that help in the removal of waste products from cell are:

  • Nucleus: This is located at the center of the cell. It is also called the control center of the cell because is in control of cell activities.
  • Lysosome: This contains enzymes that are capable of digesting the waste products.

After the break down of waste products, the undegraded waste material are transported in a fluid medium of the cytoplasm the cell membrane.

The cell membrane which is a semi permeable membrane releases the waste to the exterior through the process of exocytosis.

Therefore,When waste is produced by the cell, the nucleus gives instructions for waste removal to occur in the cell.

The lysosome breaks down the waste, the cytoplasm allows the waste to move across the cell from the lysosome to the cell membrane, which releases it from the cell.
