First you multiply both sides of equation by 4 so you get:

\frac{3}{4} *x*4=8*4
3x=32

next you devide both by 3
\frac{3}{3}*x=\frac{32}{3}

which gives you:
x=\frac{32}{3}=10\frac{2}{3}

Since you already know that the first 50 meters took 1min you can subtract
400meters-50meters=350meters
350meters÷50meters=7minutes

A company sells widgets. The amount of profit, y, made by the company, is related to the selling price of each widget, x, by the
Anastasy [175]

Answer: 19.4

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

Profit is given in terms of the selling price

y=-5x^2+194x-900

to get the maximum price, differentiate y w.r.t x

\frac{\mathrm{d} y}{\mathrm{d} x}=-5\times 2x+194

Put  \frac{\mathrm{d} y}{\mathrm{d} x}=0 to get maximum value

10x=194\\x=19.4

Thus, the company must sell it at 19.4

Lelechka [254]

Given:

The line segment is passing through the points (-9,-3) and (8,5),

Divide the segment in the ratio of 1:4.

Use the formula,

\begin{gathered} (\frac{mx_2+nx_1}{m+n},\frac{my_2-ny_1}{m+n}) \\ (x_1,y_1)=(-9,-3) \\ (x_2,y_2)=(8,5) \\ m\colon n=1\colon4 \end{gathered}

It gives,

\begin{gathered} (\frac{1(8)+4(-9)}{1+4},\frac{1(5)+4(-3)}{1+4}) \\ (-\frac{28}{5},-\frac{7}{5}) \end{gathered}

Answer:

(-\frac{28}{5},-\frac{7}{5})

At Adam's Hats, there are 52 baseball caps and 13 other hats. What percentage of the hats are baseball caps?
Solnce55 [7]

Total hats = 52 + 13 = 65

Percentage that are baseball = number of baseball/ total hats x 100.

52/65 = 0.8 x 100 = 80%

80% are baseball hats
