If we take that 1.10 is the 100%
then we add 35% to that,
how much is that?

Answer:

each praline should be sold for $2

Step-by-step explanation:

Aunt Sally's cost on making each pralines = $1.10

Making cost of 45 pralines = 45 × 1.10 = $49.5

Let total selling price of all pralines = s

Markup is 35% of selling price then,

s = 49.50 + 0.35s

s - 0.35s = 49.50

0.65s = 49.50

s = 49.50 ÷ 0.65

s = $76.15

It is given that 15% pralines gets spoiled

The remaining number of pralines = (45 - ( 15% of 45))

= 45 - (0.15 × 45)

= 45 - 6.75 = 38.25

that means 38.25 pralines will be used to cover total sale of  $76.15

We have to calculate each pralines price so

76.15 ÷ 38.25 = 1.99 ≈ $2.00

To check

Total sale = 76.15

Total cost = 49.50

Margin = 26.65

26.65/76.15 × 100 = 34.996 ≈ 35% of sale

A parking lot covers 32,420 square feet. What is its area to the nearest thousand feet? Explain how you round the number.
REY [17]
The thousands place (1000) is the fourth number to the left of the decimal, so round that one either up or down based on the number just one spot closer to the decimal, in this case, the hundreds place (100).

so we have 32,420

we can ignore the numbers that are going to become zeros as a result of the rounding . .

32,400

let's round 32,XXX either up or down based on the value in the hundreds place. if that value is 5 or greater, than we round up. if it is less than 5, than we round down.

4 is in the hundreds place, so we round down

32,000 is the answer

Given right triangle ABC, what is the value of tan(A)?
Angelina_Jolie [31]
You didn't provide more information regarding triangle but from given options, it seems that triangle has ratio from shortest side to longest side would be 5 : 12 : 13

So 13 would be hypotenuse since it is longest.

Now A cannot be right angle because tangent is not defined at 90°.

Also tan(A) would be ratio of opponent side to adjacent side (think SOH CAH TOA)

So either opposite side would be 5 or 12, and adjacent side would be 12 or 5 respectively.

So the answer is either 5 / 12 or 12 / 5 but only option provided is 12/5 so that would be your answer.

Final answer: 12 / 5
