Difference between isotonic solution and equalibrium

Biology
1 answer:
pentagon [3]3 years ago

<span>Both isotonic and equilibrium share the same definition; they both carry the meaning “balance” or “equality” – but ultimately, they still have differences. An isotonic solution is a mixture of two or more substances; substances which carry the same salt concentration as the ones that surround the blood cells – while equilibrium is the state of the solution per say.</span>

How do substances like CO2 and water move in and out of the cell?<br> (Please Answer) :)
frozen [14]

。☆✼★ ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━  ☾

There are three processes you need to know of:

Diffusion, Osmosis and Active Transport.

Liquids (such as water) move via osmosis.

Osmosis is literally the movement of particles across a partially permeable membrane from an area of high conc to an area of low conc.

CO2 would move via either diffusion or active transport.

Diffusion is the movement of particles across the concentration gradient (i.e from high conc to low conc)

Active transport is the movement of particles against the conc gradient (i.e from low conc to high conc)

<h2>Answer is "Proteins"</h2>

Explanation:

  • Proteins are made up of amino acids, or organic compounds, that are linked together through peptide bonds. Different combinations of these amino acids make up all of the proteins from the fibrin that forms scabs on a cut finger to a protein that allows rattle snakes to detect body heat
  • The human body uses proteins for many things, including repairing and building tissues, acting as enzymes, aiding the immune system, and serving as hormones. Each of these important functions requires a slightly different form of protein. In spite of their differences in structure, all proteins contain the same basic sub-components
  • Proteins are something that we've heard about because they're an important part of our diet. If we look at this nutrition label for macaroni-and-cheese, we can see that, in addition to containing several grams of carbohydrates and fats, there also contain proteins

When frying an egg, the protein albumin denatures and maintains only its ________ structure?
S_A_V [24]
When frying an egg, the protein albumin denatures and maintains only its primary structure. The simplest level of protein structure is the primary structure which is simply the sequence of amino acids in a polypeptide chain. The order of a protein is resolute by the DNA of the gene that encrypts the protein or that encodes a portion of the protein, for multi-subunit proteins. An alteration in the DNA of the gene sequence may principal to an alteration in the amino acid order of the protein. Even altering just one amino acid in a sequence of a protein can affect the protein general assembly and purpose.
