Nat Turner was an African-American slave, who led a rebellion of slaves and free blacks in Southampton, Virginia.

He is most known for the rebellion on August 21st, 1831, that took place in Southampton, Virginia, which lasted 2 days, and was one of  the bloodiest slave rebellions to ever happen in the country.

It supposed ended discrimination, but it did not actually stop it. This is when the statement "separate, but equal" came in because of the Civil Rights Act at an attempt to separate African Americans from whites.
