The Enlightenment was a time when science, politics, and religion (mostly the last two, science not as much) were questioned, causing many to follow the new ideas of government and what Christianity should be (or whatever form of religion was addressed.) It is likely that some found the Enlightenment disturbing because it supported change and reform from tradition. Let me know if you need anything else!! :)

What was NOT part of the marshall plan?
san4es73 [151]

Answer:

D

Explanation:

All of A B and C were aims of the Marshall plan -- especially B. C was the way Marshall envisioned how Europe would or could be rebuilt. And America never wanted to see Communism spread.

I don't think the United States wanted to or got to establish air bases in China. She is not listed as one of the countries that participated in the Marshall plan.

Why did the north so strongly resent the fugitive slave law, and why did the south resent northern resistance to enforcing it?
Slav-nsk [51]
The fugitive slave law was meant to return slaves, who had escaped to the "free" North, back to the South. It was a compromise set up by previous agreement made most recently in 1850. The 1850 agreement was an attempt to amend slave laws, but still allow for slavery in the South, while allowing the country to further expand to the West. The North resented the law, because it denied slaves the freedom embodied in the North. The South resented it, because they saw it as their right to own slaves per the 1850, regardless of where the slaves were in the U.S. The slaves were deemed extremely necessary because of the requirement of slave labor in the vast agricultural networks in the South.

More settlers moved westward after the War of 1812 for what two reasons?
inessss [21]
It's mainly because of A and B, because after the war, the industrial resolution happened, and farmers are replaced by machines, farmers has no work to do, their speed is no compare to the machines, so they must move to another place. Also the population in Europe is growing in a extremely fast speed.  Hope that helps :)
