Although, without any proper context, I can't say it too confidently. Abandonment would make her feel helpless and confused, an interrogation seems like action has already been taken, and another protagonist would cause.....mixed feelings honestly.

2.)People socialized more.They could NOT sit home on their computer so they visited friends and neighbors.

3.)Divorce was almost unheard of.I wouldnt have had a hard time thinking of a friend when I was in school who didnt live in a 2parent home.

4.)Kids cant get spanked (paddled) at school anymore YAY!

1.)Jobs were much more limited.Usually you could work in a factory,you could be a clerk or a secretary or a teacher and that was about it.
