10.) Find values of x and y for which ABCD must
Law Incorporation [45]

Answer:

B x=2 y=6

Step-by-step explanation:

For ABCD to be parallelogram, following conditions should be satisfied:

2x - 0 = x + 2 & 4y - 8 = y + 10

2x - 0 = x + 2

2x - x = 2

x = 2

4y - 8 = y + 10

4y - y = 10 + 8

3y = 18

y = 18/3

y = 6

A formula exists for a monetary return on an investment of continuously compounded interest. If the interest is compounded only
andriy [413]
Your formula is missing the exponent sign "^", it should read: P(1+r)^n. Re: what changes would increase your return? - the compounding period (continuous compounding is higher than annual compounding), the higher "r" is the higher the return. The higher P is the higher the return - the beauty of compounding interest...interest paid on interest earned (already paid).
Example: Formula for annually compounded interest at 4%:
$50(1.04)^5 = $60.83
vs. if you invested all of the $100 now...
$100(1.04)^5 = $121.67
you have invested only $50 more, but you receive...
interest on the $50 = (60.83 - 50) = 10.83
interest on the $100 = (121.67 - 100) = 21.67
if you wait to invest the additional $50 you will lose the opportunity to receive interest on it, and interest on the interest paid each year during the 5 year period.

Above example with continuous compounding: Formula: P(e)^(r*t) where r= rate (here I use 4%) and t = time...."e" is a constant for continuous compounding, roughly equivalent to: 2.71828
$50(e)^(0.04*5) = $50(1.2214) = 61.07
$100(e)^(0.04*5) = $100(1.2214) = $122.14
you can see that with continuous compounding (vs. annual compounding) you earn more interest because interest is compounded more frequently (and that interest earns interest)...

The diagonal of a square is 14 m, what is the perimeter
Olin [163]
The diagonal of a square is obtained by using Pythagorean theorem. Letting x be the side of the square,
                                       x² + x² = 14²
Solving x from the equation gives x a value of approximately 9.899 m. The perimeter of a square is four times the length of its side. Thus, the perimeter of the square is approximately 39.60 meters.

Natalija [7]

Answer:

A) \frac{15}{8}

Step-by-step explanation:

remember Soh Cah Toa!!

sin=\frac{opposite}{hypotenuse}\\ cos=\frac{adjacent}{hypotenuse} \\tan=\frac{opposite}{adjacent} \\\\cos=\frac{8}{17}\\\\a^2+b^2=c^2\\8^2+b^2=17^2\\64+b^2=289\\b^2=225\\\sqrt{b^2} =\sqrt{225}\\b=15=opposite\\\\tan=\frac{15}{8}
