Antibiotics are a group of drugs used to treat and prevent bacterial infections. This drug works by killing and stopping bacteria from multiplying in the body. Antibiotics cannot be used to treat infections caused by viruses, such as flu.

Further Explanation

Basically, a relatively mild bacterial infection can heal by itself, so antibiotics are unnecessary. However, when bacterial infection does not improve, the doctor can prescribe antibiotics.

In addition to the severity of the condition, there are also several other considerations before the patient is finally given antibiotics, namely:

Infection suffered is a contagious infection.

It feels disturbing and allegedly takes a long time to heal by itself.

There is a high risk of causing complications.

The use of antibiotics should be recommended by a doctor. The doctor will adjust the dose to the patient's condition, notifying things that must be considered before and when using the drug, as well as side effects that can occur from the use of antibiotics.

Avoid using antibiotics without doctor's advice, especially for:

Pregnant and nursing mothers.

Middle in another treatment.

Have a history of antibiotic allergy.

Antibiotics can also be given as a preventative measure for bacterial infections or in the medical world known as prophylaxis. People who are given antibiotics for prophylaxis are people who have a high risk of having a bacterial infection, such as when the person is undergoing glaucoma surgery or joint replacement surgery.

Antibiotics work by selectively targeting the reproduction or growth of specific bacteria cells and by not attacking human DNA. Antibiotics do not, or should not, target and affect human DNA gyrases, although they should target the specific bacteria growth. The host, (human) DNA needs to remain unharmed while the bacteria does not replicate.

The introduction of the Asian Clam in Lake George is an example of an Invasive Species.

Asian Clam are small in size, hardly 1.5 inches long. However, they can reproduce very quickly without the need for a partner. A single clam can give birth to hundreds of offspring in a single day without a mate.

Asian Clam is extremely unpleasant for most fresh water bodies since it excretes nutrients such as nitrogen.

This helps in the development of algae and gives off a foul stink.

Over 1,800 mutations have been described within the CFTR gene. These mutations can be readily detected using PCR and DNA sequenc
sertanlavr [38]

Answer:

The correct answer is - option C.

Explanation:

CFTR is a short form of cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator protein which is caused by a recessive mutation in this protein. This mutation results in the accumulation of mucus in secretory organs.

As the disease is a recessive disease, for the mutant phenotype to expressed both copies of the allele required to be recessive.

The mother is negative for the CFTR. Hence, she will not transfer the mutant allele to her child So, the child would have a wild-type phenotype even if the father having two copies of recessive allele.

Thus, the correct answer is - option C.
