There are many islands west of Vancouver, BC.
That group of islands is known as the Gulf Islands. The largest of the Gulf Islands is Quadra Island.
There is also a very large island just west of Vancouver BC that is not included in the Gulf Islands group. It is called Vancouver Island. Victoria, BC is located on Vancouver Island.
The causes of the decline of the Old Kingdom include:

- increasing desire for power among the pharaoh’s appointed government leaders.
- economic crisis brought on by famine.

The OLD kingdom kept building lavish projects which ate into the nation's treasury and led to a decrease in wealth. This came at the time of a famine which reduced government revenue and led to an economic crisis.
The Pharoah's leaders were also becoming more corrupt as a result of them wanting more power for themselves.
