It took him 12 mins to bike the trail because it implies that you bike faster than jogging so the time should be shorter hence bike twice as fast as jogging

It will take him 4 minutes to go around the trail with his bike once.
He did 3 miles jogging in 24 minutes. So it took him 8 min per mile (24 /3 = 8).
Since he bikes twice as fast as he jogs, it will take him half the time (8/2 = 4).

If f(x) = 6(9)^x then f(1/2) =?
Oksi-84 [34.3K]
F(x) = 6(9)^x

f(1/2) = 6(9)^(1/2)

f(1/2) = 6(9)^(0.5)

f(1/2) = 6*(9^0.5)               9^0.5 = √9 = +3 or -3.

f(1/2) = 6*3 = 18          or       6*-3 = -18

f(1/2) = 18   or   -18

Hope this helps.

(a) 860

860 ends with a zero or a five, 186 and 863 do not.

(b) 860

860 ends with a zero, 186 and 863 do not.

(c) 860, 186

860, the 0 is even. 186, the 6 is even. 863, the 3 is not even.

A team of runners is needed ti run 1/4- mile relay race.if each runner must run 1/16 mile,how many runners will be needed
Pavel [41]

If each runner must run 1/16 of 1/4 mile then you need 4 runners because four runners makes 4/16 points. this number is equivalent to 1/4 which proves this statement true

Solve the inequality and graph the solution. −0.8b + 2.3 ≥ 8.7
zlopas [31]

The solution of the inequality is -8 ≥ b, and the correct graph is the one in option D.

"number line with a closed circle plotted at negative eight and arrow pointing left."

How to solve the inequality?

Here we have the inequality:

-0.8*b + 2.3  ≥ 8.7

And we want to solve this, to do so, we need to isolate the variable b in one of the sides of the inequality.

-0.8*b + 2.3  ≥ 8.7

2.3 - 8.7 ≥ 0.8*b

-6.4  ≥ 0.8*b

-6.4/0.8  ≥ b

-8 ≥ b

So the solution is the set of all numbers equal to or smaller than -8, then the correct graph will be the one described by D.

How do i solve this?
tigry1 [53]

Answer:

  x = 5

Step-by-step explanation:

The corresponding segments are proportional, so you can write any of several equations relating the different segment lengths. Here's one way:

  top segment/bottom segment = x/(x+5) = (x-2)/(x+1)

Multiply by the product of denominators:

  (x +1)x = (x +5)(x -2)

  x² +x = x² +3x -10 . . . . . eliminate parentheses

  10 = 2x . . . . . . . . . . . . . . add 10 -x -x² to both sides of the equation

  5 = x . . . . . divide by 2
