The approaches of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X to the civil
rights movement differed in that "(C) King fought for desegregation, while Malcolm X supported a separate <span>identity for African-Americans," but of course Malcolm X also sought for desegregation as well. The major difference was that King only advocated a peaceful approach, while Malcolm was willing to use "any means necessary". </span>
