Bob and Carl each rented the same kind of moving truck from EZ move. There was a flat rental fee plus a charger per mile that th

e truck was driven. Bob’s cost for his truck was $112.96 for 138 miles. Carl’s cost for his truck was $142.78 for 209 miles. Which equation can be used to represent the cost of the rental truck ?

Let flat rental fee be F

And per mile charge be M

We know that Bob drove 138 miles and was charged $112.96

And Carl drove 209 miles and was charged $142.78.

⇒ F + 138×M = 112.96 .............. (i)

And F + 209×M = 142.78 ................ (ii)

Subtracting (i) from (ii)

71×M = 29.82

⇒ M = 0.42

Substituting value of M in (i)

⇒ F + 138×0.42 = 112.96

⇒ F + 57.96 = 112.96

⇒ F = 55

So the fixed charge was $55 and the per mile charge was $0.42

The volume of a cone with a radius of 7 cm is 147 cubic centimeters. Which expression can be used to find h, the height ofthe co
spayn [35]

The choices are not attached but we can solve the problem from the given information

Answer:

The expression can be used to find h is  h=\frac{3V}{\pi r^{2}}

The height of the cone is \frac{9}{\pi } cm

Step-by-step explanation:

The formula of the volume of the cone is V = \frac{1}{3} π r² h, where

  • r is the radius of its base
  • h is the height of it

Let us find the height of the cone from the formula of its volume

∵ V = \frac{1}{3} π r² h

- Multiply both sides by 3

∴ 3 V = π r² h

- Divide both sides by π r²

∴ \frac{3V}{\pi r^{2}}=h

- Switch the two sides

∴ h=\frac{3V}{\pi r^{2}}

The expression can be used to find h is  h=\frac{3V}{\pi r^{2}}

∵ The radius of the cone is 7 cm

∴ r = 7

∵ The volume of the cone is 147 cm³

∴ V = 147

- Substitute them in the expression of the height to find it

∵  h=\frac{3(147)}{\pi (7)^{2}}

∴ h = \frac{9}{\pi } cm

The height of the cone is \frac{9}{\pi } cm

Find the seventh term of the sequence which has a first term of 1/2 and has a common ratio of three
prohojiy [21]

The seventh term of the sequence is 364.5

<h3>Geometric progression </h3>

From the question, we are to determine the seventh term of the sequence

Using the formula,

a_{n}  = ar^{n-1}

Where a_{n} is the nth term

a is the first term

and r is the common ratio

From the given information,

a = 1/2

r = 3

Thus,

a_{7}  = (\frac{1}{2}) 3^{7-1}

a_{7}  = (\frac{1}{2}) 3^{6}

a_{7}  = \frac{1}{2} \times  729

a_{7}  = 364\frac{1}{2} \ OR \ 364.5

Hence, the seventh term of the sequence is 364.5
