Cinder cones refers to those cones that are formed around volcanic vents by fragments of lava, which are thrown off during volcanic eruptions. The fragments of lava typically accumulate gradually and form a conical hills with craters at the top. Generally, cinder cones usually have very steep sides, they occur in groups, they produce lava flows and they are usually less than 300 meter high.
