Geography

Answer: Ready to fight at a moment's notice, minutemen began fighting early in the American Revolution. Their efforts at Lexington and Concord inspired many patriots to take up arms against Britain. During the wee hours of April 19, 1775, he would send out regiments of British soldiers quartered in Boston.

Explanation: Britain's General Gage had a secret plan. During the wee hours of April 19, 1775, he would send out regiments of British soldiers quartered in Boston. Their destinations were LEXINGTON, where they would capture Colonial leaders Sam Adams and John Hancock, then CONCORD, where they would seize gunpowder.

But spies and friends of the Americans leaked word of Gage's plan. Two lanterns hanging from Boston's North Church informed the countryside that the British were going to attack by sea. A series of horseback riders — men such as Paul Revere, WILLIAM DAWES and DR. SAMUEL PRESCOTT — galloped off to warn the countryside that the REGULARS (British troops) were coming.

#1 a) Explain the theory of Plate Tectonics.
Burka [1]

Answer and explanation:

a) The plate tectonics is a theory that suggests that Earth's outer shell is divided into several plates that glide over the mantle (rocky inner layer above the core), there are seven major plates that make up 94% of the Earth's surface and many smaller plates making up the other 6% (I annexed a map of those tectonic plates). The tectonic plates are in motion (presumably since the beginning of time), the movement of the plates creates three types of tectonic boundaries: convergent (plates move into one another); divergent (plates move apart); and transform (plates move sideways in relation to each other).

b)The Mid-Atlantic Ridge (MAR) is a divergent tectonic plate or constructive plate boundary located along the floor of the Atlantic Ocean. The MAR developed as a consequence of the divergent motion between the Eurasian and North American, and African and South American Plates

c) In areas where the plates come together, sometimes volcanoes will form, they can also form in the middle of a plate, in places called "hot spots" where magma rises upward until it erupts on the seafloor. The Hawaiian Islands were formed by such a hot spot occurring in the middle of the Pacific Plate.

Precipitation is most prevalent within which latitude belts?
Sidana [21]

Descending air dominates in the subtropics (20° to 30° North and South latitude) and the poles. The global distribution of precipitation shows that the wettest areas on Earth are in the "rising air" zones, while the driest areas (subtropical deserts and the even drier polar areas) are in the "descending air" belts.
