It is somewhat ironic that despite India being the hearth of Buddhism, few Buddhists live in India today.

Explanation:

The Buddhism is one of the major religions in the world. The majority of the people that practice Buddhism live in East and Southeast Asia. This religion is founded by Buddha, thus the mane of the religion, and it is a peaceful religion that encourages balance in life, as well as balance between the humans and nature.

Despite the majority of the followers of the Buddhism living in East and Southeast Asia, the hearth of this religion is actually India. It is ironic though because there is very few followers of Buddhism in India, with the Hinduism being the dominant religions, and the Islam the second most practiced. The Buddhism actually had a very short spell of popularity in India, but the Hinduism manged to make a comeback, so the Buddhism only managed to survive in the places that adopted it.

Countries where the Buddhism is the dominant religion are:

  • China
  • Thailand
  • Cambodia
  • Vietnam
  • Japan
  • Mongolia
