Narratives or creation stories that aim at explaining the way in which Earth and different element on it originated such as animals, plants, and humans beings are commonly known as creation and cosmogonic myths, these are usually created by members of different culture to understand and give an explanation to the creation of elements that surround them. Additionally, creation myths share common futures such as the existence of deities or supernatural characters, but also these have been classified according to certain features. In the case of Earth diver, this category covers all creation stories in which Earth is created from water or similar such as oceans especially as one supernatural character or god takes the sand or mud found in the water to create the surface of the Earth.
