If added or subtracted the number below should be the same number .but if subdivision or multiplier number is not necessarily the same

When you are adding or subtracting a negative fraction, you usually want to consider the numerator as negative. The method is just the same, except now you may need to add negative or positive numerators. To add the fractions with unlike denominators, rename the fractions with a common denominator. So you could find the lowest common multiple and multiply the numerator and denomenator by it and then you can carry on with the rest of the equation. If this doesn’t make sense and you need these information for an equation I suggest you take a picture of it and upload it so someone can help you with it specifically

Solve 5x^2 − 3x + 17 = 9.
Vedmedyk [2.9K]

Answer:

The roots of the equation are x = \frac{3+\sqrt{151}i}{10} and x = \frac{3-\sqrt{151}i}{10}

and there are no real roots of the equation given above

Step-by-step explanation:

To solve:

5x² − 3x + 17 = 9

or

⇒ 5x² − 3x + 17 - 9 = 0

or

⇒ 5x² − 3x + 8 = 0

Now,

the roots of the equation in the form ax² + bx + c = 0 is given as:

x = \frac{-b\pm\sqrt{b^2-4ac}}{2a}

in the above given equation

a = 5

b = -3

c = 8

therefore,

x = \frac{-(-3)\pm\sqrt{(-3)^2-4\times5\times8}}{2\times5}

or

x = \frac{3\pm\sqrt{9-160}}{10}

or

x = \frac{3+\sqrt{-151}}{10} and x = \frac{3-\sqrt{-151}}{10}

or

x = \frac{3+\sqrt{151}i}{10} and x = \frac{3-\sqrt{151}i}{10}

here i = √(-1)

Hence,

The roots of the equation are x = \frac{3+\sqrt{151}i}{10} and x = \frac{3-\sqrt{151}i}{10}

and there are no real roots of the equation given above

Fiesta28 [93]
Hello.

The Manager has concluded that 2 out of 25 light bulbs are faulty.The table he created represents the ratio of bulbs checked and which ones were found faulty.
A way that he could verify that the table is correct is by simplifying each ratio. If each of them turn out to 2:25, then the conclusion is correct.

The best answer that matches this is answer choice "C.)" as it also defines our method of verifying the table's validity (just the order of the ratio is reversed, and that's fine as long as the variables are matching as well). We can further prove that this answer is correct by making ratios of our table and simplifying them;
100:8; divide both sides by 4.
25:2
500:40; divide both sides by 20.
25:2
2,000:160; divide both sides by 80.
25:2
This ratio is always the simplified answer.

Your answer is: "C.)"

I hope this helps!

3 ft Find the outer perimeter of this figure. Round your answer to the nearest hundredth. Use 3.14 to approximate it. 4 ft 5 ft
Sedbober [7]

Answer:

perimeter = 19.42 ft

Step-by-step explanation:

perimeter of semi circle = 6π/2 = 9.42

perimeter of cone = 5 + 5 = 10

10 + 9.42 = 19.42 ft
