Hola!

Geographic Isolation prevents the cross breeding between the populations that have been separated by the isolation.

Without the separation the two growing population would be brought closer together and members of the two populations will cross breed.

♦ Example:
There are two populations of squirrels on either side of the grand canyon.
↑↑↑
These populations are considered two different species.

We can conclude that these 2 populations were once one population.
Isolation allowed the two populations to move apart and speciation occurred.

hope it helps!

All of the following are functions of the peripheral nervous system except
mixas84 [53]

The right option is; it interprets signals from the external environment

The peripheral nervous system (PNS) is made up of all parts of the nervous system, except the brain and spinal cord (parts of the central nervous system). The peripheral nervous system functions as a channel through which neural signals are transferred from and to the central nervous system. Two types of neurons (sensory and motor neurons) functions in the PNS. The motor neurons transfer neural signals from the central nervous system directly to various muscles, glands, and organs (effectors) throughout the body.

three students measured the height of a lab table each using a different meter stick. One student reported a height of 98cm, ano
elena55 [62]
The difference between the two students that we know of is that they used a different meter stick. So the difference would be best attributed to the different tools they used.

Note, this is quite a huge difference. It's likely that one of the sticks, or both, are quite defect.

what term describe Movement of gases across the respiratory membrane in the pulmonary capillaries or into the alveoli?
Pavlova-9 [17]

Answer:

At the respiratory membrane, where the alveolar and capillary walls meet, gases move across the membranes, with oxygen entering the bloodstream and carbon dioxide exiting. It is through this mechanism that blood is oxygenated and carbon dioxide, the waste product of cellular respiration, is removed from the body.
