5 0

Answer:

Sn = ∑ 3(-5)^n, from n = 0 to n = n

Step-by-step explanation:

* Lets study the geometric pattern

- There is a constant ratio between each two consecutive numbers

- Ex:

# 5  ,  10  ,  20  ,  40  ,  80  ,  ………………………. (×2)

# 5000  ,  1000  ,  200  ,  40  ,  …………………………(÷5)

* General term (nth term) of a Geometric pattern

- U1 = a  ,  U2  = ar  ,  U3  = ar^2  ,  U4 = ar^3  ,  U5 = ar^4

- Un = ar^n-1, where a is the first term , r is the constant ratio between

 each two consecutive terms, n is the position of the number

# Ex: U5 = ar^4  ,  U7 = ar^6  ,  U10 = ar^9  ,  U12 = ar^11

- The sum of first n terms of a Geometric Pattern is calculate from

 Sn = a(1 - r^n)/(1 - r)

- The summation notation is ∑ a r^n, from n = 0 to n = n

* Now lets solve the problem

∵ The terms if the sequence are:

  3 , -15 , 75 , -375 , ........

∴ a = 3

∵ r = ar/a

∵ ar = -15 and a = 3

∴ r = -15/3 = -5

∵ Sn = a(1 - r^n)/(1 - r)

∴ Sn = 3[1 - (-5)^n]/[1 - (-5)] = 3[1 - (-5)^n]/6 = 1/2[1 - (-5)^n]

- By using summation notation

∵ Sn = ∑ a r^n , from n = 0 to n = n

∴ Sn = ∑ 3(-5)^n

Find the quotient. Justify your answer.2x²-3x-5∕x+1
ale4655 [162]

Answer:

The quotient is 2x-5.

Step-by-step explanation:

We do this as the simple division that we do with the integers.Find a quotient that is same as the first on multiplying with the divisor term of the dividend.

Divisor = x+1.

Dividend = 2x²-3x-5

We found that on multiplying 2x with x+1 we will get 2x²+2x and then subtracting it from dividend we will get -5x-5. We found that  only multiplying the divisor with -5 we will get -5x-5 and on subtracting it from the dividend the the remainder will be 0. Hence the quotient is 2x-5.

Please help!! Which values of a and b in the exponential function y=a*b^x would result in the following graph?
Masja [62]

Answer: a=-3, b=2

Step-by-step explanation:

1. To solve this problem substitute the values of a and b into the function y=a*b^{x} and prove for the value x=0.

2. When x=0, b^{0}=1 and a*1=a; this means that the graph of the function should cut in the axis y=a, if this does not happen, the values of a and b are not the right ones.

3. Then, we conclude that the correct option is the Option A:

y=a*b^{x}

y=-3*2^{0}

y=-3

4. You can see that the function cut the y-axis at -3.

Answer:-14, -26

Step-by-step explanation:

13-4=9

4-9=-5

From here you can see that the pattern is -9

-5-9=-14

23. is -14

16-2=14

2-14=-12

From here you can see that the pattern is -14

-12-14=-26
