Answer:

When looking north, you see stars appear to move in circles.

Explanation:

 • The motion of stars in northern hemisphere shows the circular motion that follows the path around the Polaris.
 • As it takes 24 hours to complete one full circle, so during a night less than 12 hour, we see only certain part of path i.e. stars moving in an arc.
 • And if you're facing north, they are moving from west to east.
 • So depending upon the time of observation the stars may take the path of an arc or the full circle.

How can scientist locate the epicenter of an earthquake
mash [69]

Scientist use triangulation method to locate the epicentre of an earthquake from the data collected from Seismograph.

Explanation:

The seismic data from three different location is collected to locate the intersect point as the epicentre point to be determined. Each earthquake is recorded in seismogram in different location.

A seismogram is the output from a graph called seismograph, which is used to determine the epicentre of an earthquake. There are two waves namely P-waves or Primary waves and S-waves or secondary waves that are considered while finding the epicentre of an earthquake.

With the seismogram, P-waves appears first before S-waves, since they travel faster through three states of matter. Thus, data from seismograph is used for locating “epicentre of an earthquake”.

You find a section of sedimentary rock in which the strata and some fossils have been exposed. You notice that a clam fossil is
zzz [600]

Answer:

As explained below.

Explanation:

 • Sedimentary rock is a rock that is formed from the igneous rocks by the process of weathering and erosion and this rock contains layers of sediments and them on being exposed forms various layers depending on the geologic history of the earth.
 • It is through the process of radiometric dating that the sedimentary rock is studied and the fossil records are found.
 • Thus That is classified into as siliciclastic, carbonate and evaporite, Iron-rich and phosphatic rocks. The fossils in these rocks are formed due to the transportation deposition of the ancient prehistoric animals and plants remains in them.
 • Hence the depth of the rock layers of the rocks tells us of the rock type its age and the older the rock is the older will be its formation and the older will be its chemical constitution thus the calm fossil will be older as the sedimentary rock has preserved this as they are made up of shells and are hard.
