The answer is To conform to the law of conservation of mass

The law of conservation of mass state that the mass couldn't be produced or destroyed. The equation of chemical reaction should always balanced because the mass of the product should be equal to the mass of the reactant. is done to make. The law of definite proportions should not have any relevance to this.

Chemical equations have reactants to its left and products to its right. It is natural that number of atoms of each element in the reactants must be balanced with the number of atoms of those elements in the products also. This is called balancing of the chemical equation.

A gardener crosses a true-breeding tall tomato plant bearing red fruit with a true-breeding dwarf tomato plant with yellow fruit
Lemur [1.5K]

Cross of true breeding dominant and recessive tomato plants will have:

Phenotype ratio in F1 generation is 4:0

genotype ratio in F1 generation is 4:0.

Explanation:

Data given:

Tall vine = dominant TT

dwarf vine = recessive tt

red fruit dominant  RR

yellow fruit recessive   rr

true breeding tall tomato plant bearing red fruit is TTRR

true breeding dwarf tomato plant bearing yellow fruit = ttrr

the cross is shown in punnet square:

      TR       TR

tr    TtRr    TtRr

tr  TtRr    TtRr

the phenotype ratio- 4:0

the genotype ratio - 4:0

The phenotype is tall vine with red fruit

Genotype is all the progeny are heterozygous dominant.
