List two manual labor jobs that were performed in the past that could contribute to the respiratory issues today

English

TEA [102]3 years ago

The answers are construction and mining. Mining and construction both involve things where there's a lot of dust and this can cause respiratory issues because prolonged exposure clogs and ruins your lungs and can cause cancer. Mining and usage of fossil fuels like coal also destroys the air with carbon monoxide which also ruins the atmosphere and harms respiratory organs.

Read the excerpt from "Object Lesson 1". Louise Carpenter stood tensely straight at her desk, her pretty face almost as white as
Gennadij [26K]

Answer:

The author's word choice help to express the tone of the excerpt since The negative connotations of the words "tensely," "clutching," and "sizzled" give the excerpt a tone of nervousness.

Explanation:

The use of the words "tensely," "clutching," and "sizzled" are indeed giving a more powerful meaning to the general idea of this excerpt, if this moment had been written without using any of this strong words, the level of tension on Louise Carpenter could not have been almost tangible to the reader as they create expectation and an increment of stress.

Think about the two specific stanzas that the blues singer sings in “The Weary Blues.” What happens in each of the stanzas? How
jonny [76]

Answer and Explanation:

The poem's first stanza shows how the environment was affected by the music the man played. In the second stanza, the poem shows all the melancholy and sadness in the music that the man sang, but somehow, the reader can see that music is a way of expression for this man, it's the way he puts these sad feelings out . Thus, the contrast between these two stanzas show how the man who is very sad about his own life, feels better after singing, because the music relieves him.

This reinforces the overall theme of the poem. This theme shows that melancholy, loneliness and sadness can be lightly relieved through music and artistic expression.

1. All of the following lines from "Cranes" demonstrate the story's message about the effects of war on people except.
Firlakuza [10]

Answer:

A. "The northern village at the border of the Thirty-eighth Parallel was snugly settled under the high, bright autumn sky.

C. Admiring.

Explanation:

In the first question, the only option that does not discuss the effects of war is option A. Option A only talks about the village in a positive tone. Option B discusses the difficulty of dealing with people while a conflict is going on. Option C discusses political questions of war while option D discusses having to leave one's home due to war.

In the second question, the tone of the passages is an admiring one. We know this because when the crane finally left, the boys could not stop staring at it, even after it had disappeared.
