Democracy is the idea that is influenced by Greek, Roman, and Judeo-Christian values and ideas to the development of Western society. This idea is differently viewed by each value and idea.

EXPLANATION:

• Ancient Greece had a (limited) custom of direct democracy. Citizens represent themselves truthfully at councils for a direct democracy. Ancient Rome realized the emergence of the republic, an indirect democracy in which citizens control by way of representatives, whom they vote. Most of the countries today, such as the United States, Indonesia, and many more, use the republic form of democracy.

• Greco-Roman Views:

• Residents should partake in government by electing, making laws, debating in public, contributing to juries, and maintaining office.

• The world has natural laws—models that can be exposed through intelligence and understanding, rather than fallacy.

• Democracy can be defended by having divisions of government:

• a legislative division to make laws

• an executive division to approve laws

• a judicial division to resolve legal disputes.

• There should be written law.

• The democracy development was supported by Judeo-Christian ideas, which spread in two main ways:

• After the Jews were banished from Israel in a.d. 70, they carried out their faith with them to their new lands.

• As Christianity covered the Roman Empire, particularly in the a.d. 400s, it turned out to be the majority religion in Europe.

• Judeo-Christian Views:

• Every person is born with dignity and worth since they were created by God.

• Every person has the capability to decide between doing wrong and doing good.

• Every person has the task to help other people who are in need and the community.

The development of Western society was mainly because of Greek and Roman values and a little bit of Judeo-Christian values. The Greek influence was because of their golden age and the Romans influenced the Western society because of their empire and republic.

Judeo-Christian values of love and forgiveness played a key role in development of the Western Society. The idea of modern calendar came from Romans. The alphabets which we used today came up from Greek.

Why did the colonists value their rights so highly?
Vitek1552 [10]
The colonists valued their rights so highly because the king of England didn’t give them any freedoms or rights. The colonists didn’t have any of the rights that we have today so they fought hard to make sure everyone was treated fairly. It’s the only just thing to do.

How did piye understand himself and his actions in egypt? how might modern historians view his conquests?
PolarNik [594]

Piye or also known as Piankhithe Ku sh ite ruler of Nubia.

Nubia had been a vassal of early Egypt for approximately 2,500 years by the perIod of Piye's takeovers. All this while Nubia's culture was accepting and familiarizing to the well-known Egyptian culture. In the late 8th century BC, when Pi ye rose to power, Egypt as a realm had finished and the civilization was much run-down and separated in governance. Essentially Nubia was ever waiting and viewing for their chance to rise, and Pi ye must have seen himself as satisfying the ready moment. Lastly, he led the Nubians against their once long time overlords and now the tables were turned. This measured himself the true ruler of Egypt as well, the correct successor to the transcendent traditions experienced by the Pharaohs such as Ramses II and Thutmose III.
