The GCF is the Greatest Common Factor, which means that it is the highest number that divides exactly into two (or more) numbers, in this case 55 and 100.  You start off by listing all of the factors of both numbers.  When you have finished, you find the highest factor that goes into them both, and that is the answer.

1, 5, 11, 55.
1, 2, 4, 5, 10, 20, 25, 50, 100.

As you can see, the highest number that goes into them both is 5.  Therefore, the GCF of 55 and 100 is 5.

Saritha will construct a rectangle that has a height of 4 units and an area of up to 48 square units. What inequality represents
Leto [7]

Answer:

Remember that for a square of height H and length L, the area will be:

A = H*L

In this case, we know that the height is H = 4 units.

And the area is up to 48 square units

This means that the maximum possible area of this rectangle is 48 square units.

Then we have:

A ≤ 48 square units.

And we also could add:

0 square units < A ≤ 48 square units.

Now we can replace A by H*L = L*(4units)

0 square units < L*(4 units) ≤ 48 square units.

Now we need to divide all 3 sides by 4 units.

(0 square units)/(4 units) < L  ≤ (48 square units)/(4 units)

0 units < L  ≤ 12 units.

This is the range of lengths that Saritha can use to reconstruct the rectangle.

Now if we define b as the length of the bases, then we will use:

b =  height = 4units.

Then:

1b = 4units.

(1 b/4units) = 1

This means that:

12 units = (12 units)*1 = (12 units)*(1 b/4units) =  (12/4) b = 3 b

Then the range of possible values of L is:

0b < L  ≤ 3b

A snail can move 5 inches in 6 minutes. At this rate, how many feet can it move in 48 hours?
Alex Ar [27]

Answer:

2400 inches or 2000 feet is the correct answer

there are 60 minuets in an hour, and 10 sets of 6 minuets, so you multiply 5 by ten to get 50

then you multiply 50 by 48 to get 2400

then you divide by 12 to get 2000 feet

Factor 20r+60t to identify the equivalent expression
Nadusha1986 [10]

Answer:

\boxed{20(r + 3t)}

Step-by-step explanation:

20r + 60t

Factor out 20 from the expression.

20(r) + 20(3t)

Take 20 as common.

20(r + 3t)

Total surface area of the drawing
Crazy boy [7]
The pentagon's area is the sum of the 5 triangles that comprise it.  This is

5( \frac{1}{2}bh) \times 2=5(9)(6.2)= 279

where the factor of 2 accounts for the top and bottom.  The walls have an area of 5 rectangles

5(bh)=5(9)(6)=270 \\  \\ 279+270=549km^2
