Answer:

Less plants grow in deserts.

Explanation:

Areas that have more plants have more nutrients. Plants receive and give of nutrients when they die. So areas with little water and plants have little nutrients. Also the sun damages organic matters.

Answer:

Desert soils are poor in organic matter because there are very less plant remains in the soil.

Explanation:

A desert has extreme conditions which support less life. Organic matter in soil called humus is formed by the deposition of dead plants and animals in the soil. Soil contains decomposing microbes which act upon the dead plant and animal remains converting them to organic matter.

In deserts the availability of water is very low which limits the growth of plants there. Animal population is also very less in desert areas. Above all that the extreme heat of the desert destroys the less amount of organic matter formed.

Mendel investigates stem length, or height in pea plants what if he had investigated human height instead why would his results
WINSTONCH [101]

Human height is one of the traits that belong to traits that cannot easily be placed in discrete phenotypic classes (there is not only tall and short people, there is continuous variation of height between them). Such traits are usually controlled by more than one gene (polygenic traits).

On the other hand, a Mendelian trait is controlled by a single locus.
