Answer:

Less plants grow in deserts.

Explanation:

Areas that have more plants have more nutrients. Plants receive and give of nutrients when they die. So areas with little water and plants have little nutrients. Also the sun damages organic matters.

Answer:

Desert soils are poor in organic matter because there are very less plant remains in the soil.

Explanation:

A desert has extreme conditions which support less life. Organic matter in soil called humus is formed by the deposition of dead plants and animals in the soil. Soil contains decomposing microbes which act upon the dead plant and animal remains converting them to organic matter.

In deserts the availability of water is very low which limits the growth of plants there. Animal population is also very less in desert areas. Above all that the extreme heat of the desert destroys the less amount of organic matter formed.

How does a cell transport materials across the cell membrane?
zavuch27 [327]
Depednign on what the cell is trying to transport there could be a variety of ways for the cell to transfer materials.
If the item is small and np then it can go through the lipid bilayer.

Simple diffusion and facilitated diffusion are passive transport meaning the cell does not need energy to transfer the membrane

and active diffision means they need to spend energy.

you need transmembrane protiens to move things inside the cell

Which one of the following discoveries involving DNA happened first?
EastWind [94]
A. Hershey and Chase used bacteriophages to confirm that DNA was the genetic material in genes.

According to the central dogma of molecular biology, the process of protein synthesis in living organisms follows the order: DNA →RNA→ Protein.Information for synthesis of a particular protein is copied (transcribed) from DNA onto mRNA in a process called transcription, in the cell nucleus.mRNA (messenger RNA) leaves the cell nucleus and enters the cytoplasm where it attaches to a ribosome. tRNA (transfer RNA) begins to decode (translate) the information on the attached mRNA in a process called translation and fetches amino acids corresponding to this information from the pool of free amino acids in the cytoplasm, and brings them to the ribosome where they are joined together into a chain and thus the protein is formed.
