The Eisenhower doctrine was used the 1985 Lebanon Crises.

The Eisenhower doctrine was a strategic U.S. policy established due to political turmoils in the Middle East. The doctrine allowed for use of American military forces or economical assistance in a Middle East country, if the country felt threatened by armed aggression. Its purpose was also to strengthen American position and influence in that region.

The 1985 Lebanon crisis was a political crises bought about by political and religious unrest in the country. It led to American military intervention that lasted for about three months. American and Lebanese forces successfully occupied the port and the international airport of Beirut.

The military operation in Lebanon was known as Operation Blue Bat.
