The sculpture was very important in ancient Egypt and the job of a sculptor was also very important. 

They made a series of sculptures with different sizes and materials (sandstone, painted wood, limestone), some of them were colossal and represented workers that would accompany the deceased to the afterlife.

It was very important for the sculptors that the sculptures had a certain size and proportion and with shoulders and faces oriented towards the viewer of it, it represented eternity. The body had to be vertical and rigid.
