These are reflections he shares with the reader in a dialogical way. In this quotation: "They are the things you are ashamed of, because words diminish them,," we can see the dialogical tone mainly through the use of <em>you. "..</em>But it's more than that, isn't it? ..", in this quotation the use of the question tag also reflects a dialogical tone. "That's the worst, I think. ", here, the use of <em>I think </em>shows the direct voice of the narrator/ character.
