Ans.

Glucose catabolism is defined as the breakdown of glucose molecule to provide energy to the cells, in the form of ATP (adenosine triphosphate) molecules.  In first step of glucose calabolism, glucose is converted into pyruvate. In the absence of oxygen, pyruvate converts into either lactic acid (lactic acid fermentation) or ethanol (alcoholic fermentation).

In the presence of oxygen, pyruvate enters into Krebs cycle, in the form of acetyl-coA. NADH, FADH2, and CO2 molecules are released by Krebs cycle.  The NADH and FADH2 molecules enter into electron transport chain that occurs in inner mitochondrial membrane and results in formation of energy-giving ATP molecules.

In given diagram, a). represents pyruvate molecule, b). represents anaerobic respiration, c). represents NADH or FADH2 molecules, and d). represents ATP molecules.

Sanjay and his family want to cut back on their use of non-renewable resources at home. They are thinking of an alternate way to
Elden [556K]
The correct answer is letter B, burning wood. This is not a renewable resource of energy as its by-product involves the release of greenhouse gases that can still be harmful to the atmosphere or to the environment in general. All the other choices are good sources of renewable power because they harness the power of naturally occurring materials found in their space.

Suppose a rancher wants to raise cattle. Design a plan to help the rancher determine how much land she'll need based on the ener
BARSIC [14]

Answer:

The energy flow in the ecosystem decreases as it flows from one trophic level to the next trophic level. Only 10% of the energy will transfer to the next trophic level and the remaining energy is lost in the other metabolic process.

The energy flow in the case of the grassland can be shown by the trophic relationship of the organisms. The sun is the primary source of the energy that are absorbed by the plants through the photosynthesis process. The cattle acts as herbivores will consume the plants energy by directly feeding on them. The ranch should be protected from the other animals that feeds on cattle and they are known as carnivorves.

What is an abiotic factor that can prevent the organism from becoming preserved
NeX [460]

Answer:

Groundwater.

Explanation:

Groundwater in this case is the primary abiotic factor that inhibits  organism from being preserved after been buried. After being buried, decomposers here becomes the biotic factors that eat up dead bodies.

It is also known that sedimentary basins encounters a certain change in its subsidence rate over time, and eustatic sea level changes continuously, causing depth to variations in groundwater and lakes, ocean temperature, spreading rates, continental collision and cracks, and sedimentation in ocean basins.
