Answer:

Vertex (5 ,-9)

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : Function f(x) = (x – 8)(x – 2).

To find : What is the vertex of the quadratic function .

Solution : We have given that f(x) = (x – 8)(x – 2).

On removing parenthesis

f(x) = x²-2x -8x +16.

f(x) = x²-10x +16.

We need to find vertex of this function ,

Vertex: (h, k)

h = -\frac{b}{2a}.

Plugging values

h = -\frac{-10}{2(1)}.

h = 5 this is the x- coordinate,

Now , we will plug x= 5 in quadratic function .

k  = (5)²-10(5)+16.

k = 25-50 + 16

k= -9.

Vertex (5 ,-9)

Therefore, Vertex (5 ,-9).

Answer:

64 degrees

Step-by-step explanation:

Since the triangles are similar they have the same angle measures

\frac{PR}{PQ} =\frac{SU}{ST}          \frac{21}{14}= \frac{6}{4}

∠P = ∠S ∠R =∠U ∠Q=∠T

We know 2 of the angle measures: ∠S and ∠R, and since they are similar we know ∠P and ∠U

In triangles the sum of all angle measures is always 180 degrees, so we can solve for ∠Q with this formula

A+B+C=180

46+70+C+180

116+C=180

subtract 116 from both sides

C=64

Therefore ∠Q is equal to 64 degrees

You notice a hot air balloon descending. The elevation h
ANEK [815]

Answer:

the domain is 0 x 45 and the range is 0 h 360. The slope is -8, so the change in the height of the ballon is -8 feet per second. The h-intercept is 360, so the height of the ballon when the first noticed it was 360 feet. The x-intercept is 45, so the time it took the hot air balloon to reach the ground was 45 seconds.
