44 - 66y + 65y + 5 = 9 so i expanded the brackets out first

Then simplify
So u get
49 - y = 9

Take 9 to the other side
49 - y - 9 = 0
Take y to the other side
49 - 9 = y
40 = y

44-66y+65y+5=9
Isolate the y
44+5-9=66y-65y
Simplify
40=y

Check.
44-66(40)+65(40)+15=9?
