PLEASE HELP! Find the accumulated value of an investment of $17,000 at 6% compounded annually for 13 years. (Please show work th
mihalych1998 [28]

9514 1404 393

Answer:

  $36,259.78

Step-by-step explanation:

The formula for compound interest is ...

  A = P(1 +r/n)^(nt)

where principal P is invested at annual rate r for t years compounded n times per year.

Here, you have P = 17000, r = 0.06, n = 1, t = 13.

  A = 17000(1 +0.06)^13 = 17000(2.13292826) = 36,259.78

The accumulated value after 13 years is $36,259.78.

The speeds in miles per hour of seven randomly selected qualifiers for the Indianapolis 500 (in 2012) are listed below. Estimate
SSSSS [86.1K]

Answer:

Mean qualifying speed

= 224.5669mi/hr

Speed that passed the average/mean

= 226.240mi/hr ,224.037mi/hr 226.484mi/hr, 225.172 mi/hr

Step-by-step explanation:

Let's understand what mean is then understand what mean qualifying speed is.

First mean is like the average of the seven speed listed below.

So let's find the mean.

Mean = (223.684+ 222.929+ 226.240

+224.037 +226.484+ 225.172

+223.422)/7

Mean = 1571.968/7

Mean = 224.5669

So the mean qualifying speed is those speed that qualifies when the mean is taken, i.e the speed that crossed the average.

Mean qualifying speed are

=226.240 ,224.037,226.484

, 225.172

Find a quadratic model for the set of values: (-2, -20), (0, -4), (4, -20). Show your work.
Ivahew [28]
Ok... so this question can be solved by using simultaneous equations.

Use the general from of a parabola

y = ax^2 + bx + c

you know the value of c, the y-intercept... y = -4

which means the equation is

y = ax^2 + bx - 4

now use the other 2 points to get 2 equations in 2 unknowns

(-2, -20) just substitute

-20 = (-2)^2a + (-2)b - 4  ~~~or~~~ -20 = 4a - 2b - 4

this becomes

4a - 2b = -16

now the other equation using (4, -20)

The simplified form is

Write the standard equation for the circle center (-6,8) that passes through (0,0)
Reil [10]

Answer:

D

Step-by-step explanation:

The equation of a circle in standard form is

(x - h)² + (y - k)² = r²

where (h, k) are the coordinates of the centre and r is the radius

here (h, k) = (- 6, - 8), thus

(x + 6)² + (y + 8)² = r²

The radius is the distance from the centre to a point on the circle

Calculate r using the distance formula

r = √ (x₂ - x₁ )² + (y₂ - y₁ )²

with (x₁, y₁ ) = (- 6, - 8) and (x₂, y₂ ) = (0, 0)

r = \sqrt{(0+6)^2+(0+8)^2} = \sqrt{36+64} = \sqrt{100} = 10

Hence

(x + 6)² + (y + 8)² = 100 → D
