They team up because cells make tissues; tissues make organs and organs work together to keep the system moving to keep the organism alive, so they team up to help us stay alive.

Answer:

For specialization and increased efficiency

Explanation:

There are different levels of organizations of organism's body:

 • cells
 • tissues
 • organs
 • systems

The cell is the basic unit of living organisms. The simplest living organisms are made up of one cell each (unicellular). Complex organisms are made up of several cells which are organized into tissues, organs and or systems depending on the level of complexity.

A group of cells performing similar functions come together to form a tissue. Group of tissues performing similar functions also come together to form organs while functionally similar organs also merge to form organ systems.

The merging of cells to form tissues, tissues to form organs and organs to form systems results in division of labour which tends to increase the efficiency of the biological processes in living organisms.

Hence, tissues team up to form organs in order to specialize and increase functional efficiency.

Name one channel (gated or nongated) through which chloride ions could pass into the cell.
SpyIntel [72]

Passive chloride and GABA are the channels through which chloride ions could pass into the cell.

What are chloride channels?

Ion channels are used by cells to regulate many cellular functions, from action potential conduction to water balance, which is sometimes achieved by using a single ion in the setting of different channels types.

Although ion channels are described as transmembrane proteins that have a “pore” which allows for the diffusion of specific ions across a concentration gradient, other channels involved in ion transport include antiporters (exchange), symporters (cotransport in the same direction) and pumps (use energy from hydrolysis of ATP).

Chloride channels are a remarkable example of this since they are involved in the control of transepithelial transport, membrane excitability, and the regulation of cell volume and intracellular and intraorganelle pH.

All of this is achievable by the use of the many different types of chloride channels, of which there are three major families: the voltage-gated chloride channels, the cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) and related channels, and the ligand-gated channels activated by gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) and glycine.

What is produced if a cell divides by mitosis but does not undergo cytokinesis?
skelet666 [1.2K]

Answer:

If it does not undergo cytokinesis, it means that the cell membrane does not divide to give two daughter cells, hence the two nucleus of daughter cells remain in the parent cell. Over time, this may trigger checkpoint responses in the cell and if cytokinesis cannot be activated to divide the parent cell into two daughter cells, the cell will be killed via apoptosis.
