Answer:

The quotation above describes Blackie as a type of gang leader who is influential and unwilling to back down during conflict. So, the right answer is Option B.

Explanation:

Blackie, the gang leader is a character in the short story “The Destructors” by Graham Greene set at the backdrop of the WWII. T. is a member of a group of boys called "Wormsley Common Gang" which is led by Blackie.

In the beginning he is quiet and has no authority. But he becomes fascinated with a stately old house which has survived the bombings of WWII. He learns that it was built by Christopher Wren, a great British architect.

When T. is able to enter the house when its owner Mr Thomas is away for a holiday, he convinces the members of the gang of boys to destroy the house in a night. They plan to do it in a spectacular fashion. Even when the owner returns beforehand, they lock him up in the outhouse and execute their plan.

They do it so that Mr Thomas or whom they called as Old Misery, is left with nothing. Blackie during this mission becomes temporarily subordinate to T for being out-voted about the destruction of Mr Thomas' house but he regains his position at the end. He is described as a team player for whom the future of the gang matters the most.

Kobotan [32]
The Sonnet XLI by Elizabeth Barrett Browning was built around a Central Paradox. The speaker was at one point talking about life, and then she talks about death and how ironic it was on how these two came about. She describes the two as if they are one, life and death.

what is the outcome when twain tries to persuade different wild and tame animals to accumulate vast stores of food (line 52-64)?
sukhopar [10]

Answer:

The outcome when Mark Twain tries to persuade different wild and tame animals to accumulate vast stores of food was that they did not do it.

This example shows us of never ending hunger of humans to store more than necessary.

Explanation:

The Lowest Animal is a paper written by Mark Twain of his fictional experiment done with animals.

In lines 52-64, Twain asserts that he tried to persuade animals, both wild and tame, to accumulate vast stores of food line. But he remarks that no one stored food more than they required. Even the bees collected only what was required for them for winters.

This experiment is suggestive of human's nature of greed and hunger for more. Through this experiment, Twain is conveying the message that humans are the animals that comes at the lowest animals and not the other way around.
