A codon is a sequence of three nucleotides in DNA or RNA that codes for either a particular amino acid or tells the cellular machinery to start or stop using the code. It isn't located anywhere specific.
I don't know which specific examples do you need to include, but I am pretty sure that as a regular animal, squirell might need such resources as <span>food, water, and a habitat. These three points are enough to satisfy basic needs.</span>
