The equation of the line thru (14,5) and (19,15) is found as follows:

                      15-5           5
slope = m = ----------- = ------ = -1
                       19-14         5

Thus, the slope of any line perpendicular to this first line has the slope

m = -1/1 = -1.

Then, using the point-slope form, y-15 = -1(x-19), or y -15 = -x + 19, or
y= -x + 34 (answer)

Answer:

1. Alissa can conclude that there are fewer students at her school that want to visit Japan (7) than Australia (13)

I'm not sure about the 2nd question so you can use it if you want or just wait if someone else gives a different answer

2.

25 × 0.52 = 13 pets that don't have a home

25 - 13 = 12 pets that have a home

Pets that don't have a home is more than the pets that have a home

The statement is not misleading

How is multiplying rational numbers like multiplying integers
Anna [14]

Hello from MrBillDoesMath!

Answer:

See Discussion below

Discussion:

Let a/b and c/d be rational numbers we wish to multiply. Then

(a/b) * (c/d) = (a*c)/(b*d)

The numerator (a*c) is the product of two integers ( a and c) and the denominator (b*d) is also ( b and d). In that way multiplying rational numbers is like multiplying integers.

Thank you,

MrB
