British had enjoyed triumph after triumph over nations as powerful as
France and Spain. At first glance, the odds were clearly against the

She was born on a plantation on the eastern shore of maryland. Araminta (minty) Ross was her birth name that her mom gave her it wasn't till later that she changed her name to Harriet which came from her mom's first name and then later took her husband's last name Tubman.
