If a line is parallel to y=2x+7 the line must have the same slope but different y- intercept. The equation y=2x+7 has a slope (m) of 2 and y- intercept of 7.

By using the point slope formula and the point (-2,5) we have:

y = m(x -x1) + y1 \\  \\ y = 2(x - ( - 2)) + 5 \\  \\ y = 2(x + 2) + 5 \\  \\ y = 2x + 4 + 5 \\  \\ y = 2x + 9

Which expression is equivalent to 4/2. -2/3
VashaNatasha [74]

A.) There are many different expressions that can be equivalent to 4/2 and -2/3, but you just need one expression. <em>4/2 is equivalent to 2/1 and -2/3 is equivalent to -4/6.</em>

Reason:

There are two ways you can find a fraction equivalent to another.

1.) First one is by reducing the fraction if possible.

Example: <em>5/10=1/2, 10/30=1/3, 9/16=3/4.</em>

<em />

2.) The second one is by multiplying the numerator and the denominator by the same number, usually by 2 or 3.

Example: <em>1/2 x 2/2 = 2/4, </em> so <em>1/2= 2/4.</em> Another: <em>1/3 x 3/3 = 3/9</em>, so <em>1/3=3/9</em>

<em>That said, 4/2 = 2/1 because it was reduced. While -2/3 = -4/6 because it was multiplied by 2/2. </em>

Hope this Helps!
