The effect of the Burmese python on the Everglades National Park ecosystem in Southern Florida is negative. The snakes have been deemed a dangerous species and exert top-down pressure on the Everglades ecosystem.  In accordance with their damaging effects on the ecosystem, the pythons continue to wreak havoc on the natural populations of the Everglades, which include many endangered or threatened species.  he negative impacts of the snakes on the park have been met with unsuccessful attempts to stop or slow their effects on the ecosystem, which unfortunately continues because they are still allowed to run rampant in the Everglade
