A narrator is the official story teller of the novel. The narrator is merely a spectator, but he reads the story for us. Whether whose point of view, it depends on the pronouns used, whether it is first person (I, me), second person (you) and third person (he, she, they). Nevertheless, the narrator portrays different point of views of the writer towards the characters of the story. The answer is A.

This hints at a major theme of the novel: that of the individual's role in society. The individual is just a finger in the "glove" of society. The individual is only a small part of society and is necessary to "fill" it. The glove, or society, is the outer shell presented to the world.
