Can someone please explain the headright system and its effects on the colonies?

The headright system was created to encourage immigration to the colonies so, the more a person brought with them (family and such), the more land they would get in the abundant land the colonies had.

Argentine acquire their Independence from Spain in 1818.  Not long after that, the government of Argentine started to adopt the methods of production that's introduced by the Industrial revolution in their country.

This caused a massive increase for job opportunities in the country.

But, their productive populations (between the age of 18-55) were not enough to fill in all of those opportunities. As a result, they started to encouraged citizens from another countries to immigrate into Argentine.
