The people of Cannan's island originated mostly in what is today's Israel, Palestine and Syria.

Explanation:

Canaan' land was dry and rocky and rough terrain added to it was challenging aspect of survival. Two seasons were considered to be cyclic and thy were dry and rainy seasons. Israelite stored and collected water during the rainy seasons. They stored these water in dark caves and under the darkness of gigantic rocks which protected the water from getting evaporated.

Most of the Israelite were farmers and peasants. The stored water was used to irrigate the lands and helped to maintain the green crops alive during dry seasons. Their homes were made of mud brick clay houses were common to see and stones were also used to build their dwellings.
