A researcher discovers a new prokaryote that lives on the seafloor near hydrothermal vents. This organism reduces CO2 to form C6

H12O6, and also derives energy from H2 (by oxidation). This prokaryote is a:A. photoautotroph.B. photoheterotroph.C. chemoheterotroph.D. chemoautotroph.

Answer:

D. Chemoautotrophs

Explanation:

Autotrophs in plain are organisms that synthesize their own food while hetrotrophs are organisms that do not synthesize their own food.

Chemotrophs (Chemoautotrophs and Chemohetrotrophs) are a group of organisms that obtain their energy through the oxidation of inorganic molecules, These organisms require carbon to survive and reproduce.

Chemoautotrophs are able to produce inorganic molecules by the fixation of CO2 from their immediate environment. The energy required for this process is got from Nitrogen, Magnesium, Sulphur etc.

Chemohetrotrophs are a class of chemotrophs that are unable to synthesize their own food but rather ingest complex molecules like carbohydrates from the environment.

Phototrophs are a group of organisms unlike chemotrophs that depend on the source of light or sunlight for synthesizing its food or organic molecules.

Photoautotrophs are basically photosynthetic plants which are able to carry out photosynthesis ie the conversion of CO2 and H2O to give Glucose and Oxygen in the presence of sunlight.

Photohetrotrophs are a class of organisms that do not synthesize their own food but rely on other organisms or already made organic molecules.

Answer:

Plus end and kinesin.

Explanation:

Three important cytoskeleton components are microtubules, microfilaments and intermediate filaments. Microtubules are the polymer of tubulin and plays an important role in the movement of cell organelles and its structure.

Microtubules shows the process of polymerization and depolymerization at different ends. The plus end shows the polymerization and minus end shows the depolymerization process. The kinesin protein is required for the process of polymerization.

Thus, the correct answer is option (D).

Sugars are used for energy and what else??
skad [1K]

Answer:

The body uses sugars from carbohydrates which supply the brain with glucose as the brain uses it as a "fuel source".

Why is glucose so important for the brain?

Quick answer: It takes a lot of energy to receive, interpret, and send signals via your neurons. Glucose is the simples sugar that can be used to make energy.

Cells require energy to carry out their typical everyday tasks. The simplest sugar that our cells can utilize for energy is glucose. Since your neurons are specialized cells, many additional cells are also present to support or protect them. All of the senses you can experience utilizing incoming neurons (from the body to the brain) are transmitted to and interpreted by the brain, including touch, pain, vibration, temperature, smell, sight, hearing, taste, and others. Signal reception and interpretation need energy. Additionally, your brain instructs your body to "do" things, which uses energy. Additionally, you spend a significant portion of your waking hours "thinking," which consumes energy. This explains why 20% of the glucose in your body is used by our teeny, tiny, little brains.

Thank you,

Eddie

What happens to the states of matter when the temperature changes
stepladder [879]

They may either release heat or gain heat. With a temperature increase, the kinetic energy increases and the state of matter will increase (example, ice to water aka solid to liquid)

If the temperature decreases, then the kinetic energy decreases and the state of matter will decrease (example, water vapor to water aka gas to liquid)

Have a nice day!

I hope this is what you are looking for, but if not - comment! I will edit and update my answer accordingly. (ノ^∇^)
